An illustration for "The Dwarf's Nest." Alas C. Ossterdinger's illustrations from the German edition were never used in the English language translation of Hacklander's collection, Enchanting & Enchanted (Philadelphia: Lippincott, 1871).

An illustration for "The Fairy Tankard." Wolfgang Hacklander was born 1816 & died 1877, a bit late to be of the Romanticist generation of Hoffmann, but a latter-day Romanticist nonetheless.
