The Story: Don Felipe Jelen, born an Englishman but forced by mischance to sail aboard a Spanish vessel, was captured by pirates in the West Indies. He was the prisoner of the dreaded "La Yaga" -- the beautiful but pitiless she-pirate who tortured & mutilated her Spanish victims. Infatuated with him, she promised to reform & start a new life if he would leave with her & her treasure. He refused, asking only to be free. She agreed, but first he must take a small boat & go to Puerto Rico, where he would deliver some pearls to a Spanish lady. He found the lady, who was "La Yaga" herself, & realized that he loved her. Before he could speak, she was recognized & killed by soldiers. He fled to Jamaica, where, dying of a fever, he reached out to her waiting spirit as he breathed his last
